Ministry of HRD decided to Celebrate International Women’s day in School & Colleges

India’s Union Human Resource Devolvement (HRD) Minster Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Sunday made an announcement in which he said that HRD will celebrate International Women’s day in our every Schools and college a step taken by HRD to empower girls and women through education and also said that Govt of India had launched a theme-based campaign staring from 1st March to the International Women Day on 8th March especially for Women’s empowerment and tribute to women across Country.

HRD Minister Ramesh Nishank also said that our ministry has decided to designate a girl student as class monitor “Main Hoon Monitor” for at least half of the academic Session to built leadership qualities and confidence in girl students.

The HRD Ministry further said that schemes and Initiatives made by governments like “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” are so much success that the Gross Enrolment ratio of girls at all levels of education is now higher than boys. Gross Enrolment Ratio at the elementary level is 94.32 percent as against 89.28 percent of boys and the Gross Enrolment ratio at Secondary level is 81.32 percent as compared to 78 percent according to HRD report.
